lyrics

Open my mouth, then
Open
Open my mouth, then
Open
Open my mouth, then
Open
Open my mouth, then
Open
Many a moment I can’t say a thing
People talk like they can’t sing
People say don’t walk the walk
Just say what you want but don’t open the lock
Or you’ll be martyred like an evil
Don’t jump up just hop a little
They’ll get the point
Your point will come across
Just because you’re cross at the system
Doesn’t mean it needs to burn you on one
But that’s what’ll happen
If you’re mouth is unhinged
And you start to say things
Just a lotta bit out there
I don’t mean to split hairs
But there’s a line to be walked
And some times I sing like I can’t talk
And then you say, “who’re these lazy neophiles
Just wanna brand new everything, not content with anything
Occupy a park? Occupy a campus?
Why don’t they occupy congress?
Occupy parliament,
Or occupy the whole damn government?”
And I say, I’m on board my friend,
We’re not even half way to where we wanna be
Cuz we don’t even have a map yet
Let alone a way to enact it
Something to work toward
We don’t even know what we’re looking for
But we know we’re looking
Searching, with almost no eyes
We never even realized we were blinded
We just thought it was dark in here
But I’ve gotta say something to you too, my friend
“Don’t close your mind to the methods we have today
Just because you see a better way
Don’t be so bitter about it
Your hostility towards the tactics enacted
Betrays a resentment toward the causes for our actions
Don’t try and close my mind
I’m open
Start fresh
Sisters and brothers in unrest
Undress your notions
Open up your commotion
Don’t just save the ocean, save the people from it
This is not a steeple summit, but a freebie moment
So grab it while it’s hot
Cuz it’s not
Going away any time soon
Not as long as this monsoon
Of fire
Burns to wash away the wasteland
Of never fulfilled promises
Never wants it to wash all away
But just prays to the CEO to tell him what day
Will I get paid for my sins
I did an awful job this week
And I’m not being tongue in cheek, I mean it honestly
And perhaps I’m a lotta bit general when it comes to my rage
But although it’s generalized
It’s never generic
This is some homegrown revolting rhetoric
Cuz this is my controlled chaos,
This is my uprising,
Angry, fiery, furious, indignant with integrity
Don’t look at me
That way, cuz I’m past the point when it’s just cool to rebel
Oh hell it’s the human condition
Now I’ve got egg on my face
But I’m throwing off the yoke
And everything is a joke except the fact that it’s funny
And it’s about to get sunny in here
Cuz the light of an unknown truth hits my eyes
And it’s not a realization but a slow surmising
A ghostly uprising, slow motion explosion
No chorus, it’s all a bitter build up
I’ll tell you what I resent,
But you better not lament the day you asked me to say it
I’ll ask you politely not to pay it forward
Just let it linger on your eardrums
Let it play it’s angry beat on your tongue
And let it make you come undone
With angry faith in nothing,
The cause is something
Opening up our hearts are already so unsung
So let it fester at you
Let it listlessly restlessly bother you
Till you open up your mouth
And let it consume your fiery insides
Your mind wants it your ears pulsate on it
Let your eardrums bleed out the evil wishes
Of an economic heretic
I want to grab every woman and man
Occupying our machine
Controlling the levers of our mechanical misery
And tear off their limbs in an overwhelming ecstasy
Burn up the blood on the floor
Of their machine room
I wanna scream my last and first scream of birth
I am entirely undone in an overwhelming all-encompassing
World renouncing agonizing rage against their machine
Of everyday
Everyday I walk right into it and learn
The burning truth
That this world was never meant for me
Never meant for anybody,
Except by way of robbery
Our genocidal killing sprees
Have blossomed into cold civil wars
Against the demands of the poor
Or anyone at all needy, who threatens to undermine
The all powerful pull
Of the bear vs. the bull
